When I began playing WoW, I never comprehended why blizzard would send me these strangely worded emails about how I had been hacked and I needed to click on a link to get my account back. I quickly figured out that, Blizzard is actually a very literate company, they do posses the ability to create a complete sentence, oddly enough.
As I played WoW more and the battle.net WoW merge occurred I began getting a lot more of these emails, presumably the sneaky scammers only needed my email (Which they already had if I was getting their emails) and my password to get into my account, rather than my account name and my password as well as an email account to send their fake blizzard scam to.
As the years have gone by the emails have gotten a lot better, and a lot of the time look just like real emails from blizzard and even I have trouble telling who is who sometimes. But then again, I still get quite a few of the poorly worded, grammatical error riddled emails that are clearly not from the multi billion dollar company that is Blizzard.
Here is an exert from one I got just yesterday.
"...we will be complimentary seat to the 5,000 players. You can log Web site application, we will be lucky players randomly." (Talking about a promotional mount that Blizzard is giving away for clicking on the links in the well worded email)
Now the beginning of email is fairly well written, but near the end it falls apart and becomes a mash up of words with no flow or reason. But the fact is the scammers are getting better, the emails almost direct replica's of emails you would receive from Blizzard, even down the the noreply@blizzard.com (or something like that) that all Blizzard emails come from. And a lot of people will fall prey and have fallen prey to them.
How to Defend against them:
One of the best ways to not get sucked in, is to never access anything Blizzard related without going through the appropriate account management. Almost everything Blizzard will send in an email, can be accessed through the official site, and you can be sure they wont steal your account info!
If your not into that, try just reading the email through, and picking it apart sentence by sentence like your marking an english essay. Chances are, if there are errors, chances are its not authentic.
And hate to say it, but the best defense against getting scammed (or hacked for that matter, there is a difference) is to purchase an authenticator, or to just download the mobile application for free (Available for IOS, Android, and Blackberry, as well as many other phones)

Welcome To World Of Blizzard
Welcome to the World Of Blizzard Blog!
This blog is devoted to all things Blizzard. Today will be an introduction to the blog, which may not be the most exciting or entertaining but it will be a brief background on my experience with the vast game empire that is Blizzard.
I have been playing blizzard games for 4 years now. I started my Blizzard addiction with World of Warcraft, when it was nearing the end of the Burning Crusade expansion. Then I was introduced to both Starcraft Brood war and Diablo II, and could not get enough. Now to tell the truth I was never very good at either of the games but I enjoyed them for what it is worth.
When the expansion Wrath of the Lich King came around for World of Warcraft I was what the WoW World would call a hardcore raider and was throughout the expansion, eventually killing the final boss (The Lich King Himself) on hardmode.
Then came Starcraft 2 as well as the 3rd Expansion for World of Warcraft, Cataclysm. My Starcraft 2 experience has been much different than my Starcraft 1. As I stated earlier when playing starcraft 1 I would rarely understand why, and move on to my next game. But when I began playing starcraft 2, I was watching my replays, researching build orders, and watching pro league games. Which eventually lead me to be a high diamond player in 1v1 ladders, as well as all team match-ups. I still am maintaining my diamond level placement as of the beginning of season 3.
Cataclysm was another story, when Cata hit, I raced to 85 along with the other millions of players who purchased Cataclysm on launch day. And reached 85 within a few days. Then as my luck would have it, my guild (Which was a group of real life friends) decided they needed a holy paladin. As a Co Guild Master I decided I would be the one to do the 80-85 grind that I had just completed only a couple days earlier. Eventually I got there for the second time and enjoyed raiding Bastion of Twilight and Blackwing Descent for a couple months, took a break, came back to raid firelands for 2 weeks, then lost my passion for the game again and let my subscription run out. My characters currently sit inactive with over 300k gold on collectively(I was a big fan of playing the auction house and the likeness it had to the real world economy), waiting for the day when I return to the game.
As of right now I am only playing Starcraft 2 but still keeping up to date with all things Blizzard related, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Heart of the Swarm expansion for SC2. And chances are I will be returning to WoW in the near future.
Thanks for reading, don't forget to subscribe, there will be many more interesting posts to come!
